Pitting of Dish Washer Drums
Stainless steel drums of industrial dish washers had suffered several failures due to pitting corrosion. MCA tested specimens made from the drum and from 304 s.s. in a variety of dish washing agents/rinse aids and were able to show that it was very unlikely that the pitting was caused by the company's own brands. The washing agents were ranked in terms of their propensity to cause pitting of stainless steel.
